(19.10.2023) The FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) has approved the calendar of the 2024 World Rally Championship season. ORLEN 80th Rally Poland will be held as a round seven of the series. The second oldest rally in the world is scheduled for the last weekend of June (27-30.06). As previously, spectacular gravel special stages will run through picturesque Masurian Lake District, while the event’s HQ will be located in the town of Mikolajki.

As many as 13 rounds on four continents have been included in 2024 WRC calendar.

As usual, the season will kick-off with the Monte Carlo Rally in January, and the finale will take place in November in Japan. Rally Poland, which has already been a round of the WRC six times (1973, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017), returns to the series. The Tet Rally of Latvia, known from the FIA European Rally Championship as the Liepaja Rally (Liepāja), will make its debut in the most important rally series in the world.

The Monte Carlo Rally usually runs on mixed surfaces, including tarmac, ice, and snow, while Rally Sweden is held in typical winter conditions. During Croatia Rally, Central European Rally and FORUM8 Rally Japan crews will compete on tarmac special stages. Meanwhile, eight remaining events, including ORLEN 80th Rally Poland, will feature spectacular action on gravel.

Commenting on the calendar, WRC Promoter managing director Jona Siebel said: “We’re eagerly anticipating another action-packed season in 2024 with a calendar that not only celebrates our esteemed traditions, but also propels us into an exciting future. “Our return to Poland and our debut in Latvia underscore our commitment to delivering a fresh and exciting WRC experience for fans and competitors alike.”

The high-speed rally battles during each round of the WRC can be watched live thanks to the Rally.TV platform (www.rally.tv) created by the WRC Promoter. In Poland, direct broadcasts of each rally are provided by Motowizja. TVP is also planning to do a live-coverage of a few stages of the ORLEN 80th Rally Poland.
