(25.11.2022) FIA World Motorsport Council has confirmed the calendar of 2023 FIA European Rally Championship. Eight rounds in eight countries have been scheduled. 79th Rally Poland moved to May (20-21st) will be held as third event of the season and hosted by town of Mikolajki. An all-new round in Sweden plus a return to Hungary highlight the FIA European Rally Championship calendar in 2023.

Polish round of FIA ERC runs on spectacular gravel stages in Masurian Lake District since 2005 season. However it will be the very first time when Rally Poland competitors come to Mikolajki in spring enjoying the charms and unique beauty of Masurian landscapes at this time of year.

100-year old event was held in May only four times before – back in 1959, 1999, 2003 and 2004 seasons, when it was a tarmac rally. Other editions were scheduled for June, July, August, and September.

The number of rounds remains unchanged, with eight events planned. Royal Rally of Scandinavia set to be staged in the Värmland region of Sweden, which hosted the World Rally Championship in the traditional window of February up until 2020, joined the calendar instead of famous Azores Rallye.

However, it won’t be first ERC round in Sweden. As many as 22 ERC counters were held there between 1953 and 1969, with five last editions (1965-1969) during winter.

FIA ERC 2023 season is about to kick off in Portugal, with gravel Rally Serras de Fafe e Felgueiras, while season showdown comes back to Hungary.

All 2023 ERC rounds count towards ERC, ERC and ERC4 standings. Junior ERC competitors will score points during six rounds, beginning with 79th Rally Poland.
