(25 July 2026) FIA European Rally Championship (FIA ERC) points leaders Teemu Suninen and Antti Haapala lead the 82nd Rally Poland after four special stages. Defending the home team’s honour are Jakub Matulka and Daniel Dymurski – the Polish Champions trail the leaders by 3.6 seconds.
After Friday’s spectator-friendly show through the streets of Katowice, the 82nd Rally Poland moved to the demanding, technical special stages in the southern part of the Silesian Voivodeship. Saturday’s leg consists of stages in Jastrzębie-Zdrój (17.05 km), Ochaby (11.2 km), and Jasienica Municipality (19 km), with each stage run twice. The day’s action will conclude with a short but spectacular 1.5 km super special stage at Superauto.pl Silesian Stadium.
The first pass through the Jastrzębie-Zdrój stage went to the Polish crew of Jakub Matulka and Daniel Dymurski (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2), who beat Teemu Suninen and Antti Haapala (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) by just 0.2 seconds. That was enough to move them into the overall rally lead. Mikołaj Marczyk and Szymon Gospodarczyk (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) set the third-fastest time, 2.2 seconds behind, which elevated them to second overall ahead of Suninen.
The Jastrzębie-Zdrój stage was stopped following an accident involving car No. 43, driven by Marcel Neulinger and Jürgen Heigl. Emergency services were required to intervene, and the crews starting behind them bypassed the stage via an alternative route. The first run of the Ochaby stage was cancelled after the first car on the road, driven by Dominik Stříteský and Ondřej Krajča, left the road, again requiring medical assistance. Due to these accidents, the second loop of the rally is delayed by 22 minutes compared to the original schedule.
On the rally’s longest stage – the 19 km Jasienica Municipality test – Suninen set the fastest time. The Finn beat Matulka by 4.9 seconds, moving back into the overall lead with a 3.6-second advantage. Andrea Mabellini and Virginia Lenzi (Lancia Ypsilon Rally2) posted the third-fastest time on the stage, allowing them to climb to third place overall and push Marczyk down to fourth. The reigning European Champion was only fifth fastest on the stage, behind William Creighton and Liam Regan in their Citroën C3 Rally2. However, after the first loop he trails Mabellini by just 0.1 seconds.
In the ERC3 classification, Michał Chorbiński, co-driven by Adam Chrzanowski (Renault Clio Rally3), leads after four stages. Lucas Zielinski and Ewen Leenhardt (Renault Clio Rally3) are 1.9 seconds behind, while Ville Vatanen and and Joonas Ojala (Ford Fiesta Rally3) trail the leaders by 8.2 seconds.
In the KIQ Polish Rally Championship (RSMP) standings, Matulka leads Marczyk, with Jarosław Szeja and Marcin Szeja (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) holding third place. Damian Sawicki and Piotr Sieliło (Subaru Impreza GC8) lead the overall standings of the Millers Oils Historic Polish Rally Championship (HRSMP). Second place is held by Marcin Gluza and Robert Sęk (Honda Civic, +44.4 s), while Marcin Majcher and Mateusz Adamski (Subaru Legacy RS, +48.8 s) sit in third position.
