The route of 68th Rally Poland, which kicks off on Friday, 23 September has become public. It can be seen on maps published on the official website in competitor and spectator’s sections.
Drivers and co-drivers will tackle thirteen special stages totaling 230 km and 230 metres. Most of them are the tests known from previous editions of the event. However, there are a few changes.
The major one concerns the Jagodne stage (SS 3 and SS5), whose route comparing to 2010 has been changed in over 30 percent. There are some modifications in Milki stage (SS8 and SS11) too, as well as Zalesie (SS10 and SS13). There are slight changes in the following stages: Lawki (SS2) and Kruklanki (SS4 and SS6).
There will be plenty spots for rally fans in every stages including Kruklanki jump (700 metres after the start) and Milki.
As usual, a very spectacular test will be the Mikolajki super special tackled twice during the event. It is one of the best such venues in the world. At the distance of 2,5 km two cars compete simultaneously there. The super special will start the event on Friday afternoon and will finish the Saturday competition. The test requires from drivers precision and avoiding barriers. In 2009 one of them dashed Jari-Matti Latvala’s dreams of finishing second overall. The Finn was forced to retire from the rally.
